Blue Tit

Cyanistes caeruleus

A blue tit chick typically consumes about 100 caterpillars each day. Given that a typical brood includes 8 to 10 chicks, parent birds have a demanding task.  This blue tit has built a nest in a tree that was previously inhabited by hornets. With the hornets no longer present, it has turned into an ideal location for raising young.
