Four-spotted Carrion Beetle

Dendroxena quadrimaculata

This rarely seen beetle is beige with four distinct black spots on its wing covers and a broad black band behind its head. Unlike many other carrion beetles, this species is a predator that primarily feeds on caterpillars, especially those of moths. It is usually located on low-growing vegetation at the edge of woodlands.
