Sporocarps of Physarum leucophaeum can be white or bluish-grey. The sporocarps, measuring 0.4 to 0.8 mm in diameter, develop from a grey, sometimes brown plasmodium. The tapered stalks are frequently twisted and exhibit a colour range from mid-brown to reddish-brown, along with a white powdery coating.
