Water Rail

Rallus Aquaticus

The hunting antics of the Water Rail can be surprisingly fierce, as they adeptly dispatch tiny birds and rodents with a swift stab of the bill. Although their diet is mainly composed of animal matter, it tends to include more seeds and berries during the winter months. Water Rails are related to coots and moorhens.
