Queen Anne is said to have visited the Fairlop Oak and is referenced in the lyrics of the Fairlop Fair song 'Come, come my boys.'

“To Hainault Forest Queen Anne she did ride,

And beheld the beautifiul oak by her side,

And after viewing it from bottom to the top,

She said to her court, it is a Fair-lop!"
