Ivy-leaved Toadflax
Cymbalaria muralis
Before the Hainault Restoration Project, Ivy-leaved Toadflax was often seen growing against the walls of the old farm buildings. It is not a native plant, but was introduced to Britain around 1640, possibly on marble slabs imported from Italy. The attractive two-lipped flowers appear from April to September. The plants have a preference for sheltered locations.
