Cuckoopint

Arum maculatum

Cuckoopint, commonly referred to as 'Lords-and-Ladies' among other names, is a short perennial plant that thrives in shaded areas of woodlands. Its flowers bloom in April and May. Insects are drawn to the plant's scent and become trapped within the flower, where pollen adheres to them. When the insects eventually leave, they carry the pollen with them, contributing to the process of pollination.
