Hainault's First Farmer cont.
Additional leases of small plots of land within the Forest boundaries were conducted, resulting in most of the Allotment being cultivated, aside from a few isolated strips. There was an increase in construction, which included a Bailiff's House, cottages for four labourers, stables for 28 horses, a cart-shed, and other facilities. No interest was charged on this set of buildings. Wheat was cultivated on 850 acres, potatoes on 580 acres, and 160 acres were dedicated to oats, with other crops occupying the remainder of the land.
