A micro-moth is a classification of moth families primarily defined by their small size, typically having wingspans of less than 20 mm, and an earlier evolutionary origin compared to "macro-moths." Although many micro-moths are small, some are larger than certain small macro-moths, making the distinction partly based on taxonomy rather than solely on size.
