Light Brown Apple Moth
Epiphyas postvittana
This species is very variable. Males are typically recognisable by the clearly defined colour boundary on their forewings. Females are usually larger. Adults fly from March to November. The larvae mainly feed on herbaceous plants, such as apple and other fruit trees. This species was unintentionally introduced to Cornwall from Australia in the 1930s and has since expanded its range.
