Drinker

Euthrix potatoria

This species flies in July and August. Males are smaller than the females which have a larger abdomen and are usually more yellowish. Colouration and markings can vary. Its caterpillars feed on coarse grasses and reeds, and are responsible for the common name because they have a habit of drinking drops of dew.
