Bird tables sometimes attract Sparrowhawks looking for meals. Birds up to woodpigeon size may fall prey to female Sparrowhawks. Both sexes eat the equivalent of 2-3 sparrows a day. Adult males have bluish-grey backs. They are smaller than females and don't usually catch anything larger than blackbird size.
