Member of the Pea family with dark spotted trefoil leaves. Occasionally there may be a lack of spots. The leaflets are heart-shaped with a tiny point near the apex. Yellow flowers measure 5-7mm across and may be solitary, or several may be together. The pod is spiralled with 4-7 turns.
