During a drought, trees can experience Drought Shock. Symptoms include wilting, curling and yellowing or browning leaves. Deciduous trees may shed their leaves to reduce water loss through surface area. Branches at the top or outer tips may dry out and die, and cracks may form in the trunk. Root damage can also occur.
