Roesel's Bush-cricket
Roeseliana roeselii
This species, ranging from 13 to 26 mm in length, is commonly located in meadows during the summer months. Nymphs typically emerge in May and June, while adults are usually found from July through autumn. They are omnivorous but primarily consume grass and various types of vegetation. Generally, they have short wings and are flightless, although a fully winged form that can fly is also present; this form has been observed in Hainault Forest. The cream-coloured edge around the sides of the pronotum helps with identifying this species.
