Macro moths represent a diverse group of moths. In the UK, there are over 1,000 species, which includes well-known families such as Hawkmoths and Noctuids. Although they are typically larger than micro moths, there are exceptions to this generalisation. The primary distinction lies in their evolutionary history, as macro moths evolved after the emergence of flowering plants.
