MYXOMYCETES MENU
Myxomycetes, also referred to as plasmodial or true slime moulds, are a category of amoeboid protists (Amoebozoa) that consume microorganisms found in moist, decomposing organic material. Frequently confused with fungi, they can exist as individual cells or large multinucleate masses that move and absorb nutrients before developing stalked or sessile, structures that produce spores.
